Schrage had a very passionate response about giving money to employees as a solution to keep them at the job.
Schrage said that the notion of compensation isn’t just rewarding people for a good job done. It’s making an investment in the potential of future employees. We need to move away from compensation as the path of least resistance and move towards a situation of creating maximum advantage. That path is not just compensating, but investing in your employees like a stock so they become more valuable over time.
