A quick look at some of the movement among IT people this week. OpenStreetsMap project Founder Steve Coast joined navigation app maker Telenav, where he will lead growth and development for the Scout navigation series. He comes from a position working on the Bing mobile app for Microsoft, which recently acquired Nokia’s OSM-free mapping solution HERE maps. [GeekWire] Tony Chor resigned from his position as Microsoft’s Group Program Manager for Bing. The move comes after spending 23 years -- his entire employment history -- at the Redmond giant. His reason for leaving: “It’s become painfully clear that my bid to become the new CEO of Microsoft will not be successful.” He will join Amazon as Director of the Product Details Page [GeekWire] As part of a restructuring, humor website Cheezburger hired Scott Moore as President and COO. Previously, he was Chief Digital Officer at Hibu. He’s also been Partner and Executive Producer of MSN at Microsoft, Senior Vice President and Head of Media at Yahoo and President of MSNBC.com. [AllThingsD] Following another round of successful fundraising, Uber, maker of the mobile app for requesting car service on the go, added three executives to its team. Brent Callinicos, formerly Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Accountant at Google, was named Chief Financial Officer; Emil Michael, formerly Chief Operating Officer at Klout, was named Senior Vice President of Business; and Ed Baker, formerly Head of International Growth at Facebook, was named Head of Growth. [Uber] Cloud network provider GTT appointed Geoffrey K. Hicks to be Senior Vice President of Global Operations. He brings over 30 years of related experience, most recently from his position as Vice President of Global Operations at BroadSoft. He’s also held senior management positions at Primus Telecommunications, MCI and E.spire. [gtt.net] Former Comcast Ventures investor Aditya Singh joined venture capital firm Foundation Capital as a Partner. He will focus on startups in enterprise IT infrastructure, systems and software and services. In the past, he has worked with companies in the cloud computing, data center, networking, security and virtualization sectors. He also co-founded networking appliance company Bitsplay Systems. [Foundation Capital] After several months of serving as a company advisor, former OMGPOP CEO Dan Porter joins Digital Talent Agency WME as Head of Digital. [AllThingsD] In the midst of wide-spread media attention regarding an expected IPO, Twitter’s top legal executive, Alexander MacGillivray, unexpectedly tweeted his resignation. Macgillvary, who is known for his repeated action to protect Twitter users’ free speech, did not provide an explanation for resigning, though he did say that he will remain an adviser for the company. He will be replaced by Vijaya Gadde, who currently manages the company’s internal legal work. [Reuters] Meanwhile, after several previous failed attempts, Twitter finally snagged Google’s Display Advertising Product Manager Christian Oestlien to serve as its Senior Director of Growth and International. This is a key role for Twitter as the company looks to expand its international user base as a strategy to increase revenue for its impending IPO. [AllThingsD] Broadcast and surveillance tech company Broadcast Microwave Services hired Jerod Meacham as Applications Engineering Manager. He will be responsible for applications engineering, customer training, customer service and customer program management. [BMS] In preparation for the launch of its new software for operating organizations overseas, international business SaaS provider High Street Partners named John Clancy Executive Vice President. He brings over 20 years of related experience, most recently as President and CEO of Azuki Systems. Before that, he was President of Iron Mountain Digital.
