Main image of article Poll: Are You Returning to the Office Anytime Soon?

With COVID-19 vaccinations rolling out across the nation, executives everywhere are figuring out when and how to get their employees back to the office. A little over a year after abandoning their desks, millions of technologists might be headed back to their old workplaces very soon.

Are you one of those technologists? Take our quick poll below, and let us know if you’re planning on heading back into the office within the next two months or so. As you can see, we’ve also included a “hybrid” option, as many companies are planning on having their employees return to their office desks for only a few days out of the week.

If you’re not heading back to the office quite yet (either on a full-time or hybrid basis), it might be worth taking another look at your schedule, work-life balance, and workload. At the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, as people all over the country headed into lockdown, businesses did their best to ensure that workers weren’t getting too burned out by the circumstances

Many managers proved pretty effective at helping their teams balance their schedules and keep stress to a (relative) minimum. However, given the increased workloads related to the pandemic, not every project manager, executive, or team leader has been able to engage in regular check-ins about their workers’ status. If you’re feeling a bit fried lately, or if you’ve noticed your workload has become a little too hard to handle, it’s worth sitting down with your manager and seeing what can be adjusted to better suit your needs.

If you’re still working remotely, it’s also worth checking in regularly with your manager and team members in order to update them on your projects’ progress, and get whatever advice and feedback you might need. Since the COVID-19 crisis began, there’s been a persistent worry among workplace experts that employees aren’t communicating enough their bosses and each other, which can end up having a detrimental effect on careersas well as productivity (depending on the company).
