Dice will host its first mobile hackathon on March 15 and 16 in Ankeny, Iowa, just outside of Des Moines. The event's open to both professionals and students, and will award $10,000 in prizes in categories such as best overall app, best use of the Dice API and best student entry. Among other things, the projects will be judged on usefulness, technical difficulty, polish and creativity. The hackathon kicks off on Saturday the 15th and runs straight through until noon the 16th. (Tongue-in-cheek, we expect, the company has scheduled a one-minute rest period from midnight on the 15th until 12:01 a.m. the following day. That should give participants a chance to show off their endurance.) The judges will be led by Manish Dixit, Dice's vice president of engineering. If you're thinking of participating, you can find details and download resources on the event's website, here. Or, you can email hackathon@dice.com.
