Ames, Iowa-based WebFilings will more than triple the size of its workforce over the next five years, according to the Des Moines Register. The software company will add 700 employees as a condition of receiving $5 million in incentives from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. A company spokeswoman said that WebFilings would seek developers, sales people and others as it expands, with the jobs paying between $50,000 and $75,000. WebFilings LogoAs a part of the state’s incentive deal, WebFilings has to keep its headquarters in Ames. The company’s products handle financial reporting and communications for corporate clients. “You can really scale companies in Ames,” CEO Matthew Rizai said. “It has a good talent pool you can draw from and it’s a great place to be able to expand and bring people in. And the university [Iowa State] helps a lot.” WebFilings is headquartered at Iowa State University’s Research Park. The software company has about 800 total employees in Ames, Mountain View, Calif., and eight other locations, with about 325 of them in Iowa. The company is also building a 60,000-square-foot facility that should be complete by late spring. Said Rizai: “We are really finding a lot of opportunity in various markets for our product and technology platform. To keep up with the demand, we need all sorts of people to keep up with the growth.”
