Online accounting software company Xero has moved its U.S. headquarters in San Francisco to a new facility in the city’s Jackson Square neighborhood. The San Francisco Business Times reports that the company has leased 25,000 square feet at 101 Green Street, where 65 of the company’s 100 U.S. employees work.
Jamie Sutherland, president of Xero U.S., told the newspaper that Xero would be hiring staff in engineering, marketing and sales during the coming year. “We’re all gassed up and ready to grow,” he said.
Xero is also opening offices across the U.S., including locations in Denver and New York. Earlier this year, the company established a Los Angeles location. It also has offices in London, Australia and New Zealand, where its global headquarters is located.
Sutherland said that the company’s financial backers include Matrix Partners and Hedge Fund Manager Peter Thiel. It has 210,000 paying customers in 100 countries. It says it saw 89 percent growth in global customers during the year ended September 30, and that global revenue increased 84 percent for the six-month period to September 30, as compared to the same period last year.
