BlackBerry 10Research in Motion, which has been betting the farm on the BlackBerry 10 platform, announced Monday that two BB10 phones will debut Jan. 30. The troubled company plans simultaneous launch events that day in various countries around the world. The two models will include a full touchscreen device and one with a full keyboard similar to its Bold flagship line. The new platform has been delayed multiple times, and further delays had been expected. But President and CEO Thorsten Heins has been determined to get it right and promised with the new release "a truly unique mobile computing experience." The BlackBerry line has been steadily losing market share to iPhones and Android devices, raising questions about the company's viability. Those working on the BB10 line reportedly were the only staff safe from thousands of announced layoffs over the summer.
