How IT Pros Became Browser CopsThe FBI is warning people traveling outside the U.S. that hotel Wifi may infect computers with malware  after receiving reports of infections by people clicking on pop-up screens that advise users to "update their software." Have you come across any phishing scams recently? Post your comments below.  It's always good to pay attention when you are connecting to new networks. Also, make sure to carefully examine the URL bar at the top of your browser. And if you have necessary software updates, make sure you do it before you leave home. The warning was issued through the FBI's partnership with the Internet Crime Complaint Center, which has recently warned about an uptick in electronically submitting fraudulent tax returns to Internal Revenue Service for a hefty refund by harvesting Social Security numbers, among other exploits. If you have experienced this type of exploit, file a complaint with the www.IC3.gov.
