Seattle's F5 Networks has been expanding at home and in its global offices. The company recently added 190 employees, including 60 from the acquisition of Israeli load-management startup Traffix Systems.  CEO John McAdam says the company is emphasizing research and development and sales in its hiring right now. R&D jobs are mainly in Seattle, Spokane and San Jose, Calif.  In terms of hiring in Seattle:

It’s really hard, but we try hard. We’ve been successful in the last few quarters. It’s a grind. We’re looking for really skilled people, people with architect experience. We’ve been building up our intern program, working with (the University of Washington). We have had a great success with that.

F5 produces software and hardware products that speed the delivery of applications over the Internet. It announced quarterly results that beat Wall Street expectations and reassured investors that it will meet its targets next year. In February, GeekWire reported that the company will move into 40,000 square feet of office space along Seattle's waterfront that it had previously leased out. The company will use the space for expansion. Since October 2010, F5 has grown its global workforce by 30 percent. Geekwire says F5 employs 2,600 people worldwide, with 1,060 in Washington state. This week the company touted its BIG-IP solutions for Microsoft private cloud deployments at the Microsoft Management Summit 2012 in Las Vegas.
