GSN Digital, the Game Show Network’s video game division, has opened a new office in Washington, D.C., to mine what it says is untapped game developer talent in the region. Post your answers below.  The company's seeking about a dozen data analysts, Web designers, game designers and Java and front end developers. “We think there’s an untapped market for people in this area who want to create games,” explains Peter Martin, director of GSN Digital's Washington office. The area is home to numerous tech professionals who work for the government or government contractors, who may enjoy playing video games and be persuaded to make them, he says. The D.C. office will focus primarily on the company’s Facebook app. Like Zynga, GSN’s games are primarily casual games played on the social networking giant. Its offerings include Bejeweled 2 and a number of casino and game show-oriented titles like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Although few game have a presence in D.C., the surrounding area is an established gaming region, home to companies such as Bethesda Softworks and ZeniMax Media in Rockville, Md., and BioWare Mythic and Zynga in Fairfax, Va. Bethesda Softwarks is seeking experienced iOS programmers, while BioWare Mythic is looking for numerous engineers, though they'll be based in San Francisco.
