Raspberry Pi Gets a Designer Case
The Raspberry Pi is a testament to how far computers have come. Sure, it might not be able to play the latest games, but it can play high-definition video, run an office suite and more for just $35. The Raspberry Pi is cheap since it only comes with the bare minimum of parts, including an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU, and 256 Megabytes of RAM. Anything else might raise the price, including the case. There is a fairly interesting and inexpensive solution to this issue by way of ModMyPi. Their case comes in five different color combinations (including black or white) and is constructed from perforated ABS plastic. The price ranges from $12.70 to $18.99, depending on the color options and buyer location. Five percent of the profits go to the Raspberry foundation. Spending as much as half the price of the actual computer on the case is probably a little much, yet given the price of the computer is so low, it might be worth the effort for a snazzy little case.
