Apple's won an import ban on HTC Android phones that use a patented mark-up of data types, which allows different apps to use the same information set. The ban, which is set to begin on April 19, 2012, doesn't impact any HTC products that don't offer that feature, in ways related to this particular patent. Is it a serious blow to Android? Eh. Notes FOSS Patents:
If Google can implement this popular feature, which users of modern-day smartphones really expect, without infringing on the two patent claims found infringed, this import ban won't have any effect whatsoever.
