Best Buy’s gearing up to launch an HTC phone that includes a dedicated Facebook share button, making it the first smartphone so closely intergrated with the mother of all social networks.
The phone runs Android 2.3, has a 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, a VGA front-facing camera, and combination touch screen and QWERTY keyboard. Oh, it’s got a special mauve color, too, though you can also get it in white-silver.
But the big feature is the Facebook connection, which allows one-click sharing with your Facebook friends. Best Buy calls this “the next level” of connecting mobile phones and social networking.
The HTC Status from AT&T is on pre-order now, and goes on full sale this Sunday, July 17. It seems reasonably priced at $49.99. It’s an even better value if you like mauve.
Here’s a video about the identical, UK version of the phone, called the ChaCha.
