Employers in the Silicon Valley and San Jose area are looking for people withJava experience. More than 1,100 positions came up in a quick search of Dice forJava jobs in Silicon Valley alone.
Some examples were openings for a Java technical lead at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, Java software engineers at StrongMail Systems in Redwood City, Java technical lead at Idea Connectors in San Mateo, and Java engineer at the Idea’s office in Emeryville. Also, a senior core Java developer is needed at Intelliswift Software in San Jose, a Java software engineer at Zynga in San Francisco, and a senior software engineer-Java user interface at Gravity People in South San Francisco.
Despite Tepid Growth, eBay’s Still Hiring
Another firm with no shortage of IT job openings at multiple sites is eBay. Although it seems to be in a slow growth mode (revenues were up just 5 percent last year), the company continues to add IT professionals at its offices in San Jose, Brisbane and San Francisco.
In Brisbane, eBay’s looking for a senior java engineer. In San Jose, it’s seeking a lead software engineer and a technical architect. Other open jobs included systems administrator, Unix systems administrator, senior information security engineer, tools system administrator, developer services engineer and senior systems support/development operations engineer.
In Hiring Mode, East Bay Software Firm Taleo Snags GSA Deal
Taleo, a developer of enterprise talent management software, is looking for a few good developers who know how to design and integrate enterprise systems. Based in the East Bay community of Dublin, Taleo last week reported landing a contract to develop a suite of software services for the U.S. General Services Administration to help the agency expand training and improve the way it
