DiceTV: Technology is the Catalyst, but People Make Opportunities Happen

Austin Heap, founder of the Censorship Research Center, has been heavily
involved in avoiding international censorship with his creation of the
obfuscation software, Haystack, and distributing the HBO documentary For Neda (which is also available for free on YouTube.)

While
so much attention has been focused on Heap’s technology, he admits that
none of this could have happened if it weren’t for critical people
along the way opening doors for him. At Gnomedex 10, I chatted
with him about how his connections – and the connections of connections
– made his censorship-evasion applications possible.
