Hiring

DB Global Technology, a unit of Deutsche Bank AG, plans to expand its Cary, N.C., operations and add 431 jobs by the end of 2016. The expansion will focus on application development work. Currently, 250 people work in Cary for DB’s Global Technology group. [Triangle Business Journal]

Monsanto will grow its Chesterfield Village Research Center in St. Louis, adding 675 jobs to the area over the next three years. Many of the positions are expected to be in technology. Currently, the center has 1,000 employees. The company anticipates it having the capacity to house upwards of 2,000 IT workers once the expansion is complete. [Dice News]

SpotXchange, a digital video advertising inventory marketplace, will more than double its engineering staff, bringing on board 50 engineers in Denver. They’ll serve as software and Web application developers, software test engineers and data scientists. [Dice News]

Layoffs

Symmetricom, a precision time and frequency technology company based in San Jose, will cut 12 percent of its workforce between now and the end of the year. The company cited a challenging economic climate. Approximately 68 people will lose their jobs. [Dice News]

Zynga dropped 34 employees from its Austin operation and shuttered its Dallas office earlier this month. The closure in Dallas resulted in the elimination of 62 jobs, most of which were cut on June 3. The layoffs come as the struggling social media games developer dropped 520 people from its payroll. [Austin American-Statesman]
