Want to know what Bill Gates recommends for summer reading? Fortunately, the Microsoft co-founder (and world’s richest human) has tossed his summer reading list onto his blog, where the world can see he intends to mix heavy subjects (viruses, scientific process, the ethics of eating meat) with more lightweight fare by the likes of Randall Munroe: “Each of these books made me think or laugh or, in some cases, do both,” Gates wrote in his blog posting. “I hope you find something to your liking here. And if it’s not summer where you live, this list will still be here six months from now.” Gates, who’s also busy pouring his billions into charitable initiatives such as eradicating malaria from the planet, also took the time to write (or have someone write) a brief summary and review of each book. And if anybody asks, you can say that your good buddy Bill recommended them to you.
