Most tech pros spend so much time perfecting their resumes and cover letters, it’s easy to forget another vital element in applying for a programming or developer job: an immaculate portfolio of past projects. Every software developer, engineer, and product lead should keep such a portfolio, preferably accessible via a personal website. Even if you don’t have a website, you can offer links to SourceForge, GitHub, or wherever else you keep your projects. Just as you’d take care with every element of your cover letter or resume, attention should be paid to highlighting those projects that best demonstrate your programming and/or management acumen.

Upload Your ResumeEmployers want candidates like you. Upload your resume. Show them you're awesome.

Having a well-curated portfolio ready to go is vital when you’re on the job hunt, as sometimes a company will ask to see one at the outset of the interview process. Just make sure it shows off your best work.
