Apple will unveil a smartwatch alongside two new iPhones on Sept. 9, according to Re/code. The general assumption is that the two new iPhones will measure 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, respectively. Throughout the summer, multiple tech publications reported that Apple would release its next generation of iPhones in early September, following a historical precedent: Apple has introduced the past few iterations of the device in the autumn time frame. While those publications seemed to have a good idea of the iPhones’ launch date, fewer seemed willing to speculate about features beyond the larger screens. What’s all but certain is that Apple will upgrade the underlying iPhone hardware, such as the processor, and include iOS 8, the next version of its mobile operating system.

However little information has leaked about the iPhone 6—the unofficial name by which the phones are known, for the time being—it’s a tide compared to what’s dribbled out about Apple’s long-rumored “iWatch,” a smart timepiece or wristband supposedly in development for years. Without so much as a blurry spy-shot of such a device to build an article around, tech publications have spent months engaged in the frothiest conjecture. The assumption is that Apple’s new found emphasis on biometric tracking will factor heavily into an iWatch, but beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess as to what Apple will roll out. For IT pros who support the technology stack for their respective companies, an iWatch with a lot of functionality could spark months of integration and troubleshooting efforts if employees decide to start using it within a work context. But until Apple actually reveals something, there’s not many ways to prepare for its arrival.
