A quick look at some of the movement among IT people this week. Bob Mansfield, a long-time Apple executive who retired last year and then returned a few months later, has been removed from the company’s leadership team and transitioned to leading special projects. When Mansfield returned to the company in August, it was announced that he would head its technology unit, which includes the company’s wireless teams. He’s reporting to Apple CEO Tim Cook. [CRN] UK-based networking hardware and support provider Hardware.com hired Robert Davies to be a Senior Systems Engineer for its U.S. team. Davies will focus on architecting server, storage and virtualization for next generation data centers. [Hardware.com] Seven Networks, a mobile traffic management and optimization software provider, named Chaitali Sengupta Chief Technology Officer. She has worked for Seven Networks since it acquired SNRLabs, which she co-founded, earlier this year. Meanwhile, Ari Backholm was promoted to Senior Vice President of Analytics and Marketing Development. Backholm has worked for the company since 2005 and played a central role in the design and development of its Open Channel platform. [Seven.com] DocuTech, a compliance services and documentation technology provider for the mortgage industry, appointed Frank Colson to be a Product Manager. He brings more than 18 years of experience, most recently from his position as a Product Manager at Ellie Mae. [DocuTechCorp.com] Semiconductor programming company Data I/O named Rajeev Gulati Chief Technology Officer. Previously, he was the Director of Software Engineering at AMD. He has also held positions at Freescale, Metrowerks (now Motorola), Apple and IBM. [Dataio.com] Scout Analytics, a provider of revenue management solutions, appointed Derrick Mar to be Vice President of Engineering and Client Services. Most recently he co-founded enterprise security startup GridStat, where he served as CTO. He has also held positions at Varolii Corporation, FrontBridge, Microsoft, IBM, McAfee and TIBCO. [scoutanalytics.com] Mortgage tech company ISGN named Amit Kothiyal CEO. Kothiyal has worked for ISGN since 2012, leading global operations, new client implementations and quality functions. He succeeds Ritesh Idnani, who left to start a healthcare company. [ISGN] Security and antivirus software provider AVG Technologies named Gary Kovacs Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Previously, he was the CEO of Mozilla. He has also held management positions at SAP and Adobe Systems. [AVG.com] After a successful round of fund raising, RelateIQ, a startup that uses large-scale data mining technologies to automate relationship tracking in the enterprise and CRM world, named DJ Patil Vice President of Product. Patil had previously invested in the startup and taken an active advisory role. He comes from a background in data security that includes tackling National Security Issues, as well as serving as the Chief of Security at LinkedIn, where he partnered with other social networks to face hackers, spammers and fraudsters. [TechCrunch] Mocana, a mobile app protection platform provider, appointed James Isaacs to be Chief Operating Officer. He brings more than 20 years of experience in executive management at tech companies including Apple, Concentric Networks and Danger. [mocana.com] In preparation for international expansion, open source network management application developer OpenNMS Group appointed Ron Louks to be Chief Executive Officer. He brings more than 20 years of related experience from positions including Chief Strategy Officer at HTC and Chief Technology Officer at Sony Ericcson. [OpenNMS.com] Randy Jonkers joins Planview, a portfolio and resource management company, as Chief Financial Officer. Previously he worked at Pervasive Software, where he was CFO for seven years. He has also held positions at WSNet, Healthway Communications and Dell. [planview.com] Marina Martin was named Chief Technology Officer of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. She succeeds Peter Levin, who held the CTO position for the past three years. Formerly, she was the Senior Advisor to U.S. CTO Todd Park. [GeekWire] Healthation, a healthcare software provider, hired Delloise Meier to be Chief Operating Officer. [Healthation.com] Bill Banholzer, Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Research and Development at The Dow Chemical Company, announced his retirement. He will be succeeded by A. N. Sreeram, previously Vice President of Research & Development for the Advanced Materials division, who was named Corporate Vice President of Research and Development.
