Atlanta’s metro area saw a 66 percent surge in online job postings across all industries over a three-year period, reaching 410,571 in 2012. The biggest driver was in tech, specifically the mobile sector, where postings soared by 202 percent. In May 2013 alone, the region’s mobility-related job postings reached 1,213, according to the latest Workforce Trends Report by the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and research firm Burning Glass International. Nationally, Atlanta ranked sixth for wireless and mobile job postings on a per capita basis during 2012. (San Jose, Calif., ranked No. 1.) Most in demand in Atlanta were Android developers, closely followed by application developers, software engineers, iOS developers and software developers. Among the top employers seeking them are AT&T, Turner Broadcasting, Time Warner, staffing company Principle Solutions and Google-owned Motorola.
