Many years ago I had a manager who told me the following: You are a salaried employee. I provide what I believe is 40 hours of work per week. Obviously, there will be some weeks you work more than 40 hours. However, if you are here 40+ hours week after week in order to finish your projects there are two possibilities. One is you are goofing off and that’s your problem as long as your projects are completed on time. The other is you have too much to do and that’s my problem.
