Called AR9004TB, it can deliver speeds 10 times faster than current Wi-Fi performance, and is fully standard-compliant and interoperable. In the next six to nine months, startups Beam Networks and Peraso Technologies will jump into the market with their own chips. Today's industry standard supports speeds of up to 600 megabits per second. Imagine experiencing speeds up to 7 gigabits per second, which translates to 896 megabytes per second. This will put your ISP on its knees. All of these will be based on the IEEE 802.11ad standard. While the market has only started to feel the .11ac standard, you'll have to wait a little bit longer until the new one breaks through. Until then, it's nice to see people already thinking ahead.
