Harley-Davidson is cutting 125 IT positions, though some of them may be transferred to outsourcer Infosys. The move is not going over well in the tech community.

Why should the news go over well? Harley-Davidson makes a lot of hay about being an American motorbike maker, as opposed to those Japanese conglomerates who sell “rice rockets”. With this move they have completely obliterated their institutional advertising.
For the record, I don’t have a problem with other makers. Japanese bikes were all my friends could afford. And the one guy I knew who “lived to ride, ride to live” owned BMWs.
