Ameritas Technologies, a domestic outsourcing firm, is setting up an IT center in downtown Baton Rouge, La., creating about 300 jobs. It's the first of an unspecified number of centers planned for targeted metropolitan markets. The company believes some IT work is done better in the United States, saying it's more convenient, allows local quality control and contextual familiarity of clients' business needs. Massachussetts-based Ameritas , founded by industry veteran Brian Keane, specializes in application development, Agile, application outsourcing, QA and testing, domestic outsourcing, mobile development, Big Data and analytics, Java, J2EE, .Net, C#, C++, Mainframe, Cobol, DB2, CICS and transaction processing. Its website says its services are aimed at the financial services, healthcare, retail, and media and entertainment industries. The company says it's hiring application developers – Java, .NET and mainframe – QA/test engineers, technical architects, business analysts and project managers. Related Links
