Technology solutions provider FMC Technologies expects to add 300 workers to its Houston operations, with more than half of those positions targeting engineers and project managers. FMC Technologies, which employs 2,400 people in its Houston site, will be trolling for new talent when it hosts a hiring event on July 28 at 1777 Gears Rd. in Houston from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. “The focus of the career fair is to fill 160 engineers and project manager positions,” Geir Arne Skau, FMC’s Western Region Human Resources Manager, told the Houston Chronicle. The company, named the World’s Most Admired Oil and Gas Equipment, Service Company in 2012 by Fortune magazine, designs, manufactures and services technologically sophisticated systems and equipment for the oil and gas industry. Two hundred miles to the west in San Antonio, Texas, VMC Consulting plans to hire 600 new employees between now and Labor Day for its San Antonio contact center. As the technology consulting and outsourcing company grows its support services for existing clients, it will add about 150 new employees a month during the next four months. These full-time VMC jobs are Tier 1 Technical Support positions, aimed at people with contact center and technical experience. All full-time positions include benefits. By the time the hiring is complete, the contact center will have almost 900 employees.
