If you’re a young developer -- in your teens or early 20s-- you may feel like other professionals aren’t taking you seriously. That was the concern of Sebastian Sandqvist, a 17-year-old designer and founder of the website Sparque. After Brian Wong, the 21-year-old founder of the app-rewards producer Kiip, finished his presentation at Future Insights Live, Sandqvist asked him, “Being so young, how do you get investors and other people to take you seriously?” “Assuming people won’t take you seriously is a handicap,” replied Wong. People will comment on it all the time, Wong continued, but with the Facebook effect they know that an 18 or 19 year old can change the world. They may actually be scared of you. Wong teased, but didn’t outright say, that Sandqvist should get a fake ID.
