Lenovo announced the first Android 4.0 television at the Consumer Electronic Show today. With the new K91 TV, the company makes an impressive entrance into the TV business. If you're used to your LED, LCD, or Plasma TV, you will be stunned by this TV. The K91 TV will run the latest version of Android, but to do so it required a good processor. Lenovo has loaded it with a Qualcomm 8060 Snapdragon dual-core processor, which is clocked at 1.5GHz. The TV also features 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage (plus an extra 2GB available through an SD card), and 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity. In addition, it features a five megapixel front facing camera, which uses facial recognition to help consumers control the TV (for security benefits and advanced parental control). And if you think that the remote control is a normal one, you thought wrong: K91 remote features a touchpad, five-way d-pad and motion sensor, microphone (for voice recognition). Rumors say there will also be a three-axis gyro gamepad. According to Lenovo, "the online HD VOD is tailored to individual consumers’ viewing history, and delivers the best picture and audio quality with 3D FPR technology delivering flicker-free video on a full HD IPS panel at 240hz with SRS TruSurround." Lenovo K91 TV uses a mixture of Lenovo's UI and Ice Cream Sandwich UI to enhance the traditional TV and VoD features with custom-built apps. This enables viewers to take advantage of both the Android Market and Lenovo Store at the same time. If you are the lucky owner of another Lenovo gadget (smartphone, tablet), you can use it to link to the TV and use it like a remote control or as an additional display. Lenovo announced that the K91 TV is initially available in China, but will also be available worldwide at a later date.
