Microsoft and Nokia are in the same boat now and they are eager to hit the market with their first smartphone. As the scheduled date for its release comes close, an article from Forbes makes us want to see more and more about this future concept. According to this article, Nokia WP7 phones will most likely pack Dual-Core processors. It is well known that the majority of Windows Phones use Qualcomm Snapdragon and now Microsoft wants HTC, LG, Samsung and Dell to use the same chipsets. Also to give users a consistent experience across devices a bigger display size and higher number of camera megapixels is necessary. In an interview at StMicroelectronics annual Analyst Day, Carlo Bozotti, the chief executive of European semiconductor maker STMicroelectronics, declared that ST-Ericsson will be one of the two chip suppliers for the future Nokia Windows Phones. Now wait a second. Most of us might not know who St-Ericsson is and what they are doing. From their site we find out that
ST-Ericsson is a world leader in development of wireless platforms and semiconductors. ST-Ericsson enables smarter communication, mobile entertainment, as well as benefits of access to mobile and broadband connectivity to people around the globe.
